At VRLE, we want to introduce students of all ages to Virtual Reality. We work with world-class developers to create amazing VR learning experiences, from discovering Paleolithic cave paintings to exploring our solar system. We also travel to schools, museums, and science fairs to bring these experiences directly to you.
Our Goal: To introduce students and teachers to the promise of this new technology, which stands poised to change much of how we interact with the world around us. With extensive hands-on experience in the classroom, and in collaboration with worldwide VR experts and educators, we are uniquely prepared to introduce this exciting and emerging technology to the world of education.
We come to you. We travel the Triangle area of North Carolina with our setups and materials in tow. We come prepared with everything you need to inspire and engage your students. If you live outside our area, we would be happy to talk about how best to incorporate VR into your lesson plans or educational needs.
Please browse our available educational packages using the link below. We are also willing to work with you to customize an experience, if these opportunities don't quite fit with your goals.
Virtual Reality (VR) has been a mainstay of the cultural landscape for decades. Only recently, however, has the technology caught up to the popular conception. What VR offers, above and beyond any existing medium, is the promise of presence: the ability for VR to create an environment so believable that the mind experiences it as if it is actually there.
Due to combination of technologies –including very precise headset tracking, stereoscopic displays, and a high resolution screen– when students put on a VR headset, they can actually feel like they are somewhere else. They can float through space and see the planets hanging in the stillness of the night sky. They can get a sense of scale that is impossible to communicate in any other way: when Jupiter dwarfs the other planets, they don't have to imagine it - they now intuitively understand it. After a lifetime of reading about the solar system and seeing it on screens, they're suddenly there.
VR allows students to learn in an immediate and engaging way. It complements and extends traditional education, inspiring the way a breathtaking field trip can. The advantage of VR, however, is that the places you can go are not limited by your proximity to educational destinations: they are only limited by your imagination. These experiences are available right in your chair, without having to leave the classroom.
At the VRLE, we have committed ourselves to providing the best possible educational experiences, because we recognize just how important VR is and will be. To educate the next generation, we must ensure opportunities are extended to every student, regardless of socioeconomic background. We give students access to exciting experiences using transformational technology.
With the VRLE, no bus needs to be reserved and park passes need not be bought. There is no travel time and there are no weather delays. At the VRLE, we come to you, and we engage on your home turf.
Over the past year we have worked with clients such as UNC, the Duke School, and the North Carolina School of Science and Math, among many others. We have learned a lot about what works and what doesn't in this new educational space, and we are well-prepared to offer a fun and inspiring experience. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, ideas, or feedback. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
